As part of my home
automation activities I soon found that the off the shelf gadgets and devices
available to the world in general were both hugely expensive and usually not
quite what I wanted. Because of this I started teaching myself electronics and
began to build little devices to enable me to achieve whatever my latest idea
was.
I started with a
relatively simple signal extender for a beam break on my kitchen door and am
rapidly progressing towards building my own simple computers for home control.
